Berkeley Neuroscience annual conference held at Asilomar

October 28, 2022

In October 2022, we held the UC Berkeley Neuroscience annual conference in person and off campus for the first time since 2019. Members of the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute (HWNI) and the broader neuroscience community at Berkeley  including students, postdocs, faculty, and staff  gathered at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California from October 14-16 to share their research and ideas, reconnect, and meet new members. We were honored to have Nobel laureate and UC Berkeley alum David Julius from UC San Francisco as our keynote speaker.

“It was great,” said HWNI member and professor of neurobiology Dan Feldman. “We had a buzzing poster session, lots of interesting talks, and a fascinating seminar from David Julius on sensory biology of the gut. There was an impromptu party on the beach on Friday and a talent show and karaoke party on Saturday. Berkeley Neuro students are a talented bunch!”

We are happy that we could hold the conference in the way that we used to do, and look forward to continuing the tradition!
