HWNI member Andrew Dillin, professor of molecular and cell biology and a leader in the field of aging research, has been named the editor-in-chief of the journal Genes & Development. His first interaction with the journal was when it rejected a paper he submitted as a graduate student in 1997. But Dillin says that the comments the editor sent him in the rejection letter were “crucial for helping me understand my findings within the larger field of our study,” and he hopes to similarly help other scientists and build community in his new role as editor-in-chief.
