Andrew Dillin named Salk Institute Nonresident Fellow

HWNI member Andrew Dillin has been named a Nonresident Fellow by the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where he will join a group of eminent scientific advisors who guide Salk’s leadership.

Dillin is a professor of molecular and cell biology who studies aging and aging-related disease. In a news release announcing this honor, the Salk Institute said, “His lab’s research on mitochondrial function and dysfunction in the aging process informs our understanding and treatment of aging-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, and Parkinson’s diseases.”

Salk Nonresident Fellows serve as members of the faculty for renewable six-year terms. They advise Salk on its scientific progress and programs, as well as playing a key role in the appointment and promotion of faculty.
