David Schaffer elected to National Academy of Engineering

HWNI member David Schaffer, professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). Election to the NAE is one of the highest honors accorded to engineers, and is given to those who have made outstanding contributions to engineering practice, research, or education. Schaffer was recognized for his work applying fundamental molecular and cellular engineering principles to enable the clinical success of gene and cell therapies. Read more from UC Berkeley Engineering.
