James Olzmann wins UC Berkeley Letters & Science Faculty Award

HWNI member James Olzmann has won a 2025 L&S Faculty Award from UC Berkeley’s College of Letters & Science. The awards are given to faculty in recognition of exceptional scholarship, service to the College and community, and transformational teaching. Olzmann received a Beatriz Manz Award, which is the category for faculty recently promoted to full professor.

Olzmann is a professor in the departments of Molecular & Cell Biology and Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology who studies mechanisms of organelle and lipid homeostasis in health and in diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic diseases.
