Postdoctoral researchers Lamiae Abdeladim (Adesnik lab) and Natsumi Komatsu (Landry lab) have both won 2024 Career Awards at the Scientific Interface (CASI) from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. The awards support early career researchers who are conducting interdisciplinary work combining the physical and computational sciences with the biological sciences.

Abdeladim and Komatsu are both in UC Berkeley’s Neuroscience Department and the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, and are among only 12 winners nationwide. They will each receive $560,000 over five years to support their transition from postdoctoral training to independent faculty positions.
