A new film series at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) called Psychedelia & Cinema explores how the physical properties of film can shift a viewer’s state of mind. The series was organized in partnership with the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics, one of the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute’s centers. Psychedelia & Cinema runs through May 10, and tickets can be purchased on BAMPFA’s website.
In the “101 in 101” video below, Kate MacKay, a film curator at BAMPFA, explains the film series in just 101 seconds. Read more from Berkeley News.
