Berkeley Talks: How do we make better decisions?

December 20, 2024

HWNI member Linda Wilbrecht, professor of neuroscience and psychology, discussed decision-making on a cross-disciplinary panel of UC Berkeley faculty as part of the College of Letters and Science’s Salon Series. Wilbrecht studies how adolescent learning and decision-making changes from ages 8 to 18, and how it compares to that of adults and children.

Other faculty on the panel were Wes Holliday, professor of philosophy; Marika Landau-Wells, assistant professor of political science; and Saul Perlmutter, Franklin W. and Karen Weber Dabby Professor of Physics and 2011 Nobel laureate. They discussed how they view decision-making from their respective fields, and how these approaches can be used to help people make better decisions.

The conversation was recorded for the Berkeley Talks podcast, and you can listen to the episode and read more from UC Berkeley News.
